286 found to be farming illegally in Camerons

ABOUT 286 people were found to have carried out illegal farming for the past 10 years in Cameron Highlands, Tamil Nesan reported Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Azmi Khalid as saying.
Azmi said the Forestry Department had conducted surprise checks to curb illegal activities there.
Of the 38,271ha of forest reserve in Cameron Highlands, some 166.02ha were found to have been used for illegal farming, he said. -- The Star.
